How we got here

In February of 2020, I, your co-host Alfred Walking Bull, joined the last class of volunteers at KFAI who were trained on how to run the board in the studio. I stayed involved through the pandemic, the George Floyd Uprising, and have been a co-host of Fresh Fruit (the nation’s longest-running, weekly, Queer radio show) for four years! I also hosted a year-long weekly show called Grand Entry.

Then, I recruited Comrade Tom (Vance) and Malcolm Lee to co-host Fresh Fruit with me and we kept saying, “WE REALLY NEED TO DO A PODCAST!” And here we are.

But more than a reason for four friends to spill the tea, MAD T wants to be your source of Queer Minneapolis culture. So much of what goes on in Minnesota happens because of amazing work and creativity of our 2SLGBTQ communities. Each one of us has a field of expertise and great sense of curiosity that we hope will help you understand more of what it’s like here in this Trans Refuge state.
